Stephen Yang, Ph.D., M.S., B.S. researches the effectiveness of using exergames (fitness video games) and mobile technologies (mHealth) for improved health and wellness.

Yang has been active in the field of exergaming since its infancy and has published and presented internationally and nationally. He's been invited to speak at the: Game Developers Conference, American Journal of Health Promotion Conference, NCTI Technology Innovators Conference, Indiana University School of Informatics & Computing, American Heart Association/Nintendo Summit (The Power of Play: Innovations in Getting Active), Korean Serious Games Festival, Continua Alliance Fall Meeting, World Health Care Congress - Middle East, Digital Health Communications Extravaganza, and the Partnership for a Healthier America - 2015 Building a Healthier Future Summit

He was a contributor and surrogate for the Games for Health (GFH) Project (www.gamesforhealth.org), consults with video game developers, and toy and exergame companies on products and programming.

In recognition of his knowledge and expertise, he was appointed to the Board of Advisors of Exergame Fitness, is a founding member of the ExerGame Network (TEN), and has been interviewed on: national television news network (Good Morning America Health), national online news (Reuters and  U.S. News & World 
Report),  morning television (Fox 45 Baltimore), internet radio (Into Tomorrow with Dave Graveline), national newspaper (USA Today), online magazine (Chicago Tribune), print magazine (Oprah Magazine and Today’s Dietician), and video. Throughout all his research and collaborations, Yang wishes to see how games and technology can be used as a gateway to inspire people of all ages and abilities to be healthy and active for a lifetime.
